Yetarik Adera
Ye Tarik Adera Organization was set up to find ways in which the memory and service of the Imperial Ethiopian government officials who perished at the hands of the DERG, and that of their colleagues who endured many years of unjust imprisonment, will be preserved and recognized.
This organization is set up to take over and expand the work of the Michael Mehaber which has been the primary caretaker of the legacy of these officials since 1991.
The aim of Yetarik Adera Organization is to honor the work and legacy of those men and their peers and colleagues, set the record straight and to share that history with the Ethiopian public. This effort will require many types of activities but, to start with, the organization will focus on the following primary objectives:
- Establishing an archive;
- Maintaining and improving the Memorial;
- Undertaking advocacy; and
- Supporting historical scholarship by providing funding for scholarships, books, and movies.
The mission of Yetarik Adera Organization is to preserve the memory and legacy of Imperial Ethiopian government officials who perished at the hands of the DERG. We aim to honor their service and sacrifice by promoting public awareness, education, and research about their contributions to Ethiopian society.
